Medical Reasons for Excessive Sweating - What You Should Know Before Starting Treatment

Hyperhidrosis, also known as excessive sweating or heavy perspiration, is a surprisingly common condition. Sweating in itself is a perfectly normal function which is part of the body's work to maintain a stable temperature and preventing any over-heating. When the external temperature rises, say on a sunny day; or the body is exercising, then the level of sweat will increase in order to keep the core temperature at the right level. However, some people find that their level of sweating is above normal. They may sweat heavily for no apparent reason, which can cause damp patches and embarrassment.
