Tired of all of those long-winded prescription drug ads on television that list scary side effect after scary side effect? Well, if so, this spoof will have you ROLLING. Doctor, please give us a prescription for Nature Rx! What was your favorite line? I couldn’t stop laughing over “murderous rage” and “for euphoria lasting more than four hours check work email.” —Jenn

My Fitness Superpower? RuPaul Said It Best…
Weeks ago we posed the questions: What’s your secret fitness superpower? And, what fitness superpower do you wish you had? Today, it’s Kristen’s turn for this QOTW! Reading about everyone’s fitness superpowers has been a blast. Jenn’s a kettlebell commander, Karen has a killer core, Susan is the most stubborn damn person you ever want to meet (in a good way!), and Erin is scrappy as hell. But, as much as I loved reading about everyone else’s superpowers, I really struggled to come up with my own, so, I started asking around. I assumed I’d get lots of different answers from lots of different people, and …

Yoga for Runners and Yoga for Strength: DVD Reviews From Two Fit Bottomed Dudes
We recently got the opportunity to review a couple of yoga DVDs that feature guys. Seeing that most of the workout DVDs on the market are super-geared toward the ladies, we thought we’d let two of our resident Fit Bottomed Dudes — Jared and Ryan — put these to the test. (Plus, with the start of football season and all, the timing just seemed right!) Read on for their reviews of two titles from the Gaiam Athletic Yoga line: Matt Giordano’s Yoga for Runners and Yoga for Strength with Eddie George. Yoga for Runners Review I never expected to become a yoga guy, but I don’t think I …

This Is Why Coffee Makes You Poop
Yes, we have the maturity of 12-year-olds. And, yes, we can’t help but share a post on why one of our favorite beverages (coffee!) helps our bodies do one of our favorite healthy things (poop!). Read it here or click on the image below. This is clearly TMI, but I’m part of the 23 percent. Are you? Let’s talk poop. —Jenn

Full-Body Couplets Workout
I ask just about everyone I know to come to the Fit Pit with me. But I get it. Even though I swear it’s super friendly and welcoming and awesome, it can look a bit, well, intimidating. (Heck, I was scared you-know-what-less the first time I went!) So when I asked our own assistant editor Erika if she wanted to join me for a workout and she said yes — guys, I was SO stoked. You can never have too many friends to work out with! The first two workouts we did together, I totally forgot to snap a photo. (Bad …

True Blue: In Support of Denim
I like “comfort” as much as the next gal. Designer duds and haute couture, you can have ‘em. I’ve never been the Vogue/Harper’s Bazaar type anyway and veer more toward a classic, timeless look. Some things, like a well-cut blazer, a plain v-neck tee and a flattering pair of jeans, never go out of style. Until now. According to a recent article in Bloomberg Businessweek, for the first time in U.S. history, athletic pants sold in equal numbers to denim jeans. Which would suggest as a nation we are getting a whole lot healthier, but sadly statistics show we are not. …

On-Demand Fitness is Growing in Demand
In the same way that music-streaming services and iTunes have largely replaced those shiny CDs (remember those?), streaming-based workouts are giving workout DVDs a serious run for their money. Whether you get your sweat on with your phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV, on-demand fitness is growing in demand. While there are now dozens of choices, here are a few that run the gamut from new to established to free-of-charge. 1. BeFit. The main selling point of Lions Gate’s BeFit YouTube channel is that it’s free. And they’re not just 2-minute snippets. You can choose from big names, including Jillian Michaels, Denise Austin, …

September Fit Bottomed Challenge Week 2: You Have the Power
Welcome to Week 2 of the Fit Bottomed Challenge*! And in line with the theme of this month’s challenge, we have a little meme inspiration for ya … We like to think that by “thing,” Mr. Ralph Waldo Emerson meant the “Fit Bottomed Challenge.” Because if you do it — even if you miss a day here or there — you will have the power to make yourself healthier, happier and, of course, more fit bottomed. Now go do the thing! Get the power! What to Expect This Week of the Fit Bottomed Challenge: September 7-13 Monday, September 7: It may …
