MINEOLA, N.Y. -- A terminally ill New York City woman who was given an OK by a court to go off her respirator has decided she wants to stay on life support.
The woman, Sungeun Grace Lee, is paralyzed from the waist down at a hospital on suburban Long Island. An appeals court had ruled Friday that she could be taken off the machines after she said it was what she wanted. The court order rejected a request by her parents seeking to prevent it.
Before she became ill with brain cancer last year, Lee worked as a financial manager.
