You would think that finding the ingredients in a given product would be the easiest part of writing these look at the label posts. In reality sometimes that’s the biggest challenge! For example take a look at the ingredient list for this American Crew hair styling product as provided by Amazon.com:

“Coconut Extract, Lanolin & Castor Beans”

Sounds wonderful, right? What a truly all natural product!

But wait according to another website, this product contains a few other ingredients that you might want to know about:

“Water, Lanolin Wax, Cetearyl Alcohol, Alcohol Denat., Tribehenin, Propylene Glycol, Tridecyl Stearate, Dipentaerythrityl Hexacaprylate/Hexacaprate, Ceteareth-25, PEG-8 Beeswax, Tridecyl Trimellitate, PEG-40 Castor Oil, Acrylates/C10-30 Akyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Triethanolamine, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Caramel, Yellow 5.”

I’m not sure where the disconnect is but once again the ingredient information on Amazon.com is woefully inadequate. And, not surprisingly, it’s the “nasty” synthetic ingredients which really make the product work that are left off the list!

Regardless of Amazon’s inconsistent ingredient labeling policies, if you want to buy this American Crew Fiber product please use our link below and help support the Beauty Brains. Thanks!
