The Greatist Table: 5 Healthy Smoothie Recipes from Around the Web

A smoothie is the perfect solution for busy school or work mornings when everyone's dashing out the door. These blended concoctions are loaded with fresh fruit and veggies, protein, and fiber to keep you going until lunch. While there's nothing wrong with a classic flavor combination (strawberry-banana is always popular at Greatist HQ), these five recipes are a little bit off the beaten track with ingredients like lime juice, carrots, acai, and and cucumbers. So plug in the blender, whip one of these bad boys up, and get moving!

5 Healthy Smoothie Recipes from Around the Web

Coconut Key Lime Pie Smoothie via Flavor the Moments
Any smoothie that sounds like a summery dessert is a winner in my book. In addition to being delicious, this drink is also super healthy — it's loaded with bananas, Greek yogurt, and coconut milk. Key Lime Pie SmoothiePhoto: Marcie / Flavor the Moments

Green Fiber Bomb Smoothie via Potpourri
This bright-green beverage is basically a produce aisle in a glass. It gets its Nickelodeon Slime color from a kiwi, an avocado, an apple, spinach, a cucumber, and mint. Super Green SmoothiePhoto: Laura / Potpourri

Chocolate Banana Bread Smoothie via The Muffin Myth
This speedy smoothie — which tastes like a slice of chocolate-chip banana bread — proves that comfort food doesn't have to be unhealthy. Oats, bananas, chia seeds, cocoa nibs, yogurt, and cinnamon are a sweet way to fuel up in the morning. Banana Bread SmoothiePhoto: Katie / The Muffin Myth

Carrot Mango Smoothie via Lore
This bright beverage only has six ingredients — and one of them is ice! Combine carrots, a mango, yogurt, honey, and almond milk to make this flavorful and inventive smoothie. Mango Carrot SmoothiePhoto: Kelly Ridenhour / Lore

Kale, Berry, Banana, Acai & Hemp Power Smoothie via Deliciously Ella
The name may be a bit of a tongue-twister, but it's worth the effort. This superfood-laden mixture is loaded with antioxidants in the form of dark leafy greens and berries. Add some healthy fats and protein with hemp protein powder, chia seeds, and ground flax seed. Kale Berry SmoothiePhoto: Ella / Deliciously Ella
